CHANDIGARH, JULY 24: The Horticulture Department of Punjab Government with the beginning of the rainy season starting from the second fortnight of July has set a target to plant fruit saplings on 4000 hectares of land in the state. The state government has also decided to provide a subsidy of 75% in three phases with the ratio of 60:20:20 to the farmers under this Special Scheme.

CHANDIGARH, JULY 24: The Punjab government is set to secure the precious Forest land in the state from encroachments and has taken steps to tighten the security of forest land.
Disclosing this here today, Mr. Arunesh Shakir, Forest and Wild Life Protection Minister, said that Forest area of Punjab was facing widespread encroachment during last three years due to scarcity of staff. He said that Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal has given approval to strengthen the security network of Forest Department and has given nod for recruitment of 250
